Hey everyone, we are always getting asked to add new pipe sizes and pipe materials, so it would be great to collect them here in a central place.

It doesn't take long for our software engineers to add them once we have all of the information.

Please include as much technical data as possible. Our wish list includes:

  • Name/Brand
  • Material
  • Nominal diameter
  • Internal diameter
  • Outside diameter
  • Colebrook white coefficient
  • Safe working pressure

Hi Jonathan,

it would be amazing if you could add generic pipes like those defined in CIBSE - case in point we're asked to design to Heavy Grade Steel quite regularly which is contained in the CIBSE docs and their pipe sizing calculator (i think it's to BS 10255 or something).

Heavy Grade Steel, Medium Grade Steel and Copper Table X are the most common types we use at design stage.

I can forward you the CIBSE tables if you need - but i think they are accessible through their website.

Thanks,

Will.

Hi Jones,

We will be letting users add their own pipes in a future update, but for now if you could send us the technical details, we can look to add those in.

We do currently have options (attached) for Steel which uses BS1387 dimensions and Copper Type X - are they suitable for you?

Thanks,

Jonathan
